Adele French lost her sister, Celia, fifteen years ago, and she’s never stopped looking for answers or someone to blame.

Now, human remains have been found near the home Celia once shared with her husband, Albert.

Adele thinks she can finally put her sister to rest. Not to mention the ugly lies that Albert fabricated about Celia after she disappeared. She’s determined to uncover the truth about that night, and see justice served at last.

But Adele told some lies, too, back then.

And if you dig for secrets in dark places, you can’t always control what comes to light.

“…enthralled me from start to finish. S.A. McEwen has a knack for understanding the small idiosyncrasies that factor in to how people think. These observations lead to an intricate tale that should not be missed.” ★★★★★

“Five freaking glorious stars awesome.” ★★★★★

“…brilliantly written, suspenseful, devious, a complete mind twist.” ★★★★★

“Whew!!! Talk about twists!!! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.” ★★★★★

Fast-paced and twisty! Like the author's other books, this one is full of twists and populated with well-developed characters. I could hardly turn the pages fast enough! Again and again, I was surprised. Secrets upon secrets, right up to the very end. Well-done! ” ★★★★★

Another dark, complex, gripping family drama, with so many twists and turns. I didn't see the end coming!

Couldn't put it down!

The author has crafted a plot that is full of family drama, hidden secrets and intrigue which pulls you in right from the get go. The author takes you along for the ride and she transports you into it’s world, which you can’t escape from until its final page.

I really enjoyed how the book was structured and how it moves from past to present and told from different points of view.
There are a few twists and turns in the plot but it is woven together so skillfully and organically I didn't feel like the plot hinged on finding out the secrets. Everything is so beautifully described and the writing is so natural.

This is the first book of the authors I have read and I was completely blown away by it. I was immediately taken in by her emotive and vivid writing, that takes you wholeheartedly into the story and has you feeling every part of it. A fantastic storyteller, I am so pleased to have been introduced to her work and I look forward to more books in the future
